Terms of Use

Effective October 19, 2026 · Updated October 29, 2026

This website, nickinsuranceguy.com, is run by Nicholas P. Klusmeyer, doing business as Nick Insurance Guy ("Nick," "I" or "me"). I'm an independently licensed health insurance agent (Texas resident license #3109818, NPN 21020151). By using this site you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. How I handle your information is explained in my Privacy Policy.

The short version: This site is information, not advice. Prices shown are estimates, and the insurance company decides what you qualify for and what you pay. Nothing here is a promise of coverage until a plan is approved and you've enrolled.

What this site is

This site helps you learn about health insurance, compare Marketplace (ACA) plans with private and fixed-indemnity plans, see estimated prices, book a call, and ask for help. It also links to other insurance options I refer out. It is advertising and general education from a licensed agent.

Not insurance advice until we talk

Nothing on this site is personal insurance, medical, legal or tax advice. Articles, guides, comparisons and videos are general information. A recommendation about what's right for you happens only in a consultation with me, after I understand your situation. Talking to me or using this site does not create coverage, and no coverage exists until an insurance company approves your application and the plan takes effect.

Plans are not all the same

Marketplace (ACA) plans are major medical coverage that must meet federal rules. Private plans and fixed-indemnity plans are not ACA major medical coverage. They can have different benefits, limits, exclusions and underwriting, and some may not cover pre-existing conditions or may not satisfy the individual coverage requirement. A fixed-indemnity plan pays set amounts for covered events and is not a substitute for major medical insurance. Please ask me about what a plan does and does not cover before you apply, and read the plan documents the insurance company provides.

Estimates, not quotes or guarantees

Where I can help (licensing limits)

I can only sell, solicit or negotiate insurance in states where I'm licensed, and only for products I'm appointed to offer. I'm licensed in Texas and in a number of other states, and not in all of them. The list changes. Ask me, and I'll tell you whether I can help in your state. If I'm not licensed where you live, I can't discuss specific plans or prices with you. I may be able to refer you to someone who can. Content on this site is not an offer or solicitation in any state where I'm not licensed or where such an offer would be unlawful. You can confirm my license with your state's department of insurance.

Calls, texts and email

If you request a call, submit a form on this site, or submit a Meta (Facebook or Instagram) lead form, and agree to the consent statement shown with it, you agree that I may call and text you at the number you provided, including with automated technology, and email you, about health insurance, your quote and follow-ups. Consent isn't a condition of buying anything. Only give me a phone number and email address that belong to you or that you're allowed to use, and tell me if your number changes. The text message terms below also apply.

Text message terms

No government affiliation

I'm an independent, licensed agent. This site is not connected with or endorsed by the U.S. government, Medicare, the federal Health Insurance Marketplace (HealthCare.gov), any state marketplace, or any government agency. I don't sell Medicare plans. You can also get information about Marketplace plans directly at HealthCare.gov or your state's marketplace.

Using the site (acceptable use)

Please use the site only for lawful, personal purposes related to finding insurance. You agree not to:

I can block access or ignore submissions that break these rules. You must be 18 or older to submit a form.

Third-party links and content

This site links to services I don't own or control, including GoodRx and Cost Plus Drugs for prescription prices, insurance companies, and government sites such as the Marketplace. I don't endorse or guarantee them, and I'm not responsible for their content, prices, accuracy or privacy practices. Their own terms and policies apply when you use them.

My social media and other platforms

I share content on platforms such as TikTok, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), LinkedIn and YouTube, and I use third-party tools to publish it. Those platforms' own terms, community rules and privacy policies apply to anything you do there, such as commenting, messaging me or submitting a lead form. If you submit a Meta lead form, Meta collects your answers under its terms and shares them with me. Social posts are general information and are subject to these terms as well. Please don't send medical details, Social Security numbers or other sensitive information through comments or direct messages.

Ownership

The text, design, graphics and videos on this site belong to me or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may view the site and share links to it. Other uses need my written permission.

No warranties

The site and everything on it is provided "as is" and "as available." I work to keep it accurate and current, but I don't promise it's free of errors, up to date, or always available. To the extent the law allows, I disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

Limit on my liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, I'm not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost income or lost coverage, arising from your use of the site or your reliance on information or estimates on it, including a difference between an estimate and the price or decision of an insurance company. If I am found liable to you for anything related to the site itself, my total liability is limited to $100. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under insurance law that can't be waived, or any liability that can't be limited by law. Your rights regarding a plan you buy are governed by that plan's contract and the insurance company, not these terms.

Texas law and where disputes go

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about the site or these terms will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas, and you and I agree to those courts. Before filing anything, please contact me first at the email below so we can try to work it out. Complaints about an insurance agent or insurance company can also be made to the Texas Department of Insurance or your state's insurance department.

Changes

I may update these terms from time to time. When I do, I'll change the date at the top of this page. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
